Vincent William Van Gogh (March 30, 1853 - July 29 1890) is a famous Dutch Painter whose works include some of the world's most popular, highest recognized and priced pieces. Van Gogh was a post-impressionist artist. He produced over 2000 works with most of his best-known pieces being created in the last couple years of his life. During this time he cut off a piece of his left ear and fell victim to mental illness, which eventually led to his suicide.
