There is a $150 initial consultation fee that is credited toward future purchases.
The initial consultation takes approximately two hours. We take pictures, measurements, discuss artistic likes and dislikes, show you artwork that we have on consignment and books of images of different art styles to determine preferences and desires. We discuss project budget as well.
By the end of the initial consultation, you can expect to have a good idea of what Expressive Living would like to provide for your walls based on the space, your taste, and your budget. There are often times that there is artwork within our current inventory that is exactly what you want however, if not, we search for the appropriate artwork for you until we acquire it and your project is complete.

We work very well with Interior Designers. Interior Designers love the fact that the client can shop at home for the artwork while they are present to make suggestions and recommendations based on their vision as well. Artwork is often the final stage and completes the Interior Designers Vision.

A Giclée print is a superior museum quality reproduction which became most popular in the past decade using computer technology. Giclée reproduction is created by tiny jets spraying milllions of droplets of water-based printing ink onto a sheet of fine art paper. This spray of ink, more than 4 million droplets per second, whirls onto paper spinning on a drum at 250 inches per second. Hence the name giclée, French for 'fine spray.' The conputer's information is scanned directly from the artist's original work. An art print emerges, lush and velvety, with the feel of a watercolor and the look of a serigraph or original lithograph. From this marriage of art and science we celebrate the emergence of the giclée fine art print - a precise reproduction of an artist' painting with the qualities of an original.

A limited edition is the issue of something collectible, such as prints, limited to a certain number quantity of numbered copies that are hand signed by the artist. The first number indicates the number of the piece; the second number indicates the total quantity in the edition i.e. 5/95. The total number of prints is fixed or 'limited' by the artist who supervises the printing. This quantity limitation makes each print unique and valuable, therefore, highly collectable.

An open edition is a series of prints or objects in an art edition that has an unlimited number of copies, but could still be hand signed by the artist.

Giclée printers use archival inks which make the archival properties of giclées much higher than lithography or silkscreen prints. Special inks we use in our printers have a light fastness rating up to 200 years. In most cases, giclées are going to last longer then oil, acrylic, and other medium originals. Visually, giclees are also sometimes better then originals.

Yes. They are coated and protected. UV protective coating/varnishes add more durability. Watercolor paper prints are more resistant to smudging and water damage then a watercolor painting. Framing behind glass is still highly recommended.

Under normal lighting conditions, our inks will not show noticeable fading for at least 200 years. Although, it is not recommended by ink and media manufacturers that prints be exposed to direct sunlight, especially for long periods of time. If you handle your giclee just as you would with an original - with care and caution - than it will last even longer than the original.

It is a certificate supplied with each sold giclee print, that provides information about Copyright ownership, print title, size, media, number in the limited edition, edition size, release date, printer name, etc. The certificate gives you a guarantee of museum quality standards and fine art value.
